Our Story

We have been an active band since 2000 when “The Molly Maguires”, a local band from the 60’s, re-united after 30 years to play a reunion concert for the Etna High School Grand Re-union.

The members that are left from the original “Molly Maguires” are Keith, Mark, and Jim,

Dave has been with us off and on for 8 years. First as a sub for Gary and Art, and then as a member for the last 5 years.

” The new old guy Gary”

Yes fans, we are pleased to announce that Gary Hohman is back with “The Maguires”.  He will not only bring back his great vocals and guitar playing, but add keyboards to the mix with Dave, Keith, Mark and Jim.  Welcome home Gary!

Each member of the band has a specific duty or specialty -

  • Keith is our leader in a real and spiritual way. He was the Molly Maguires leader and has carried the task over to this band. He (believe it or not) is the conscience of the band and really makes the rest of the fellows think about the choices the band makes, in music and career choices.  He also is the best bass player we’ve worked with along with vocals that everyone can enjoy.
  • Dave is the musical director and set maker. He leads the practices when we learn new music and arranges the sets for each of the jobs we do. He is our guitar guru and does vocals.  Dave has had the most musical success of the members having been with “The Flashcats”, who have toured and released several albums/Discs.
  • Mark another of the Molly Maguires, is the man of many talents in the band.  He now plays Keyboards along with Sax, Flute, Harmonica, and rhythm instruments while singing leads and back round vocals.

  • Jim is another original M-M and short of 1 gig, the only drummer to be in any of the Maguire bands.  He has been given the task of booking the band and his house is the practice place. I truly believe if he didn’t do these things, he would not be needed. In fact the others have talked about a drum machine but so far it hasn’t happened.
  • Gary is the newest old member of the group.  Gary has done it all from performing in Vegas to being on the road and performing in local bands.  He brings the opportunity to do two guitar songs and another lead vocal and really strengthens the backround harmonies.  This time around he is also adding some keyboards to the mix.  We welcome him back with open arms and hope you all will too.

We always say have fun when you come out and see us because if you don’t want to dance, you can sing along with most of ours songs. Say hi the next time you see us and please tell us what you really think of the band.
